Young Professionals of San Angelo provides career minded individuals with opportunities to develop socially, professionally, and civically. It is our belief that in this day and age people have more options than ever about where they decide to work. We know that San Angelo has to compete for young workers, and feel that if we can provide an active community for young professionals then San Angelo will be a more attractive place for new businesses to start, more graduates to stay, and more businesses to grow.

The San Angelo Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to fostering and promoting a business and tourism environment which assures the economic growth and well being of our members and community. Diversity in business and in our community is vital to this effort. We’re honored to be working with so many dedicated, passionate, and diverse businesses within our community. The Chamber’s Diversity Committee focuses its full efforts, resources, and finances in developing an educated, well-trained, and knowledgeable diverse business community. Committee members work year round to communicate the importance of a diverse workforce. They also select and distribute awards for the Celebration of Diversity Awards luncheon.

In 2019, the Diversity Committee established multiple coalitions, each focused on a sector of minority owned businesses in our community. These task forces are committed to creating awareness about minority businesses, as well as hosting and promoting events, connecting minority business owners to valuable city resources, and promoting involvement in leadership opportunities.

If you’re interested in serving on the Diversity Committee or joining a coalition, please contact Heather at heather@sanangelo.org.

Leadership San Angelo is designed to help develop future leadership for our City by providing intensive training in areas strategic to the city’s well-being.

The purpose of Leadership San Angelo is to give interested men and women with leadership potential the opportunity to develop their knowledge, and to hone the skills of leadership through a planned learning process in the atmosphere of the city itself. In this living laboratory, Leadership San Angelo will bring together persons from all areas of the city’s life for sharing, learning and participation. When they have completed the course, they will be familiar with all aspects of San Angelo’s life, and will be better prepared to lead and work together.

A maximum of 30 persons will be selected for this program, chosen by an anonymous selection committee from those who apply. Nominees and their employers must be able to commit the time required for the program, and participants will hopefully come from all segments of the community. A candidate must be 21 years of age or older.
